My 3 month baby loves this for tummy time. Since we got it, she has been enjoying doing tummy time for the first time! I really recommend this to moms! The only downside is that you need to change the water every week and the inflatable side is very hard to blow. I almost lost my breath trying to inflate it.
Great for my gassy reflux baby who hates tummy time. Bought this because my little one struggled with colic and still struggles with reflux. He would also fuss and cry if on his tummy for more than 2-3 minutes. First I will say this is not the safest baby item you will have in your house. I am on the floor right next to my baby every time he is on it. It’s plastic so when baby can’t keep head up long he is face first in plastic if you are not there to move/help adjust baby or pick him up. Also my little guy rolls off so easily. This helped him learn to roll, but I learned to have a hand on both sides to catch him because the roll happens very quickly right off the mat. All that said this has been one of the best purchases I have made for my little guys fussy belly. I put him on there and all the stuck farts and burps just start flowing out. Any spit up that was making him uncomfortable also seems to come flooding out. This often helps him start feeling better and I have also put my baby in it before bed to help get also those stuck burps out before laying him down. On top of all that my little guy quickly started to enjoy tummy time. He started learning to hold his head up more and became way more comfortable rolling. I think we got this when he was 3 months. He is now 5 months holding his head high with great stabilization. He also rolls from back to belly. I know this is about on par with where he should be, but I really feel like this mat helped get him there.
I bought this for a friend with young baby working on sitting up... It's already getting HOT here in Florida and I thought the water in the mat would help keep baby T cool... From what my friend said, I'm right! She wishes it was a little bigger, because baby T is a monster, but so far so good. He will play on it and it Sparks his interest more than the regular mat did. She says he mashes on it a lot but *so far* aside from a little scuffing on the bottom (she lays it out on the patio while she does yard work) it is holding up really well.
I got this as a gift for my nephew who is 8 weeks old. He is learning how to do tummy time since he has plagiocephaly. He really hates tummy time and has a long conehead (even though he was a c-section baby, but he had already descended the birth canal) I thought that this would help him tolerate tummy time better. So far, seems like he is doing better with tummy time!
This is super cute! You blow in the outside chamber and fill it with air. Then the inside chamber gets filled with water, you can even use warm water.
There are little pieces of foam sea animals that float in the water. A fun little thing for your baby for a cheap price. A good addition to your nursery.
It is made with food grade PVC so it's not bad for them.
Tummy time is pretty important for babies and is good for gassy babies as well.
I was undecided as to what water mat to get because there were so many. I ended up choosing this one due to the adorable scene and "floaties" it has. I also though that it was a perfect size for my 3 month old. When I received the item it came in a little box and the inside part gets filled with water (not hot). You don't want to add too much, and I made sure the large air bubbles were out. This made it easier for the floaties to move around. The outside border has to be manually blown up which didn't take long at all. When it was yummy time, my baby immediately fell in love with it... Cooing and smiling... Staring and trying to get the floaties. I've never seen her lift her head up higher. She had an easier time doing it because of the extra support that the inflatable border provided. Once she's past the tummy time stage, she'll still be able to use it as she's sitting up. She absolutely loves this and I'm very happy with my purchase
This is the second one of this type of baby aquarium I am buying, & this time I got it right. The toy is very durable, does not leak, & is of cute design. I really like the detail all around, & the color choices. All you have to do is rinse the mat once in awhile with slightly chlorinated water, & you can use it for a long time. My baby loves playing on this mat, & banging on the fish
Works great. I would recommend blowing the inflatable sides before putting water in. I have had mine full of water for two weeks. The water isn't clear anymore, so I need to switch it today. It's meant for my five month old but the 5 and 2 year old play with it too. They are a bit rough with it and it still hasn't popped. I put it under the baby swing or the couch when the baby isn't using it. The baby enjoys it for about 5-10 minutes and then cries when she is tired of her workout. Just be careful to not walk away. If you walk away and the baby is too tired to push up or move their head, they could have a hard time breathing. Something that helps prevent this is not filling it to the max and bulging at the seams.
I love it and glad to have a toy for the first time that helps tummy time not turn into a scream fest. It will help keep her cool in the summer too.
